While you’re out and about enjoying Pomona’s next Second Saturday Art Walk, don’t forget to swing by SPACE! Here’s what’s going on:
ART WALK, AUGUST 10, 6-9 PM
Opening reception: Animals: The Photography of Rich Shelby
Rich Shelby – photographer, past mathematics professor, and master marble maker – creates emotive, arresting photographs of animals from all over the world. His work is celebrated by National Geographic and included on their official website, and will soon appear on the walls of SPACE! Animals will open this Saturday during Art Walk with a visit from two feathered friends. Not to be missed!
Continuing exhibition: PAINT: A Beautiful Mess Repurposed
PAINT: A Beautiful Mess Repurposed features repurposed artworks by Jeff Dulla, a sign painter by trade who reuses all the materials leftover from his work for Trader Joe’s to create art. In addition paint, plexiglass, and plastic, Dulla uses scraps of fabric, clothing – and even tennis shoes! – to create his mixed media art pieces. Dulla’s work is in the permanent collection at California State University, Long Beach, and on view in the backSPACE through September 7.
