News from SPACE

We are dismayed to announce that Edith Crash will no longer be performing at SPACE during Downtown Pomona’s next Art Walk. Edith’s mother is currently hospitalized in France and Edith has cancelled all of her October shows to be by her mother’s side.

We are also saddened by the recent passing of young local musician Cynthia “Shaggy” Delacruz. In support of Shaggy’s family, members of ALONE have organized a benefit show to be held at SPACE this Friday, October 4 at 8pm. The show’s current lineup includes performances by Michael Rey and The WoebegonesHabitsALONE, Habitat, and Brainstory. More information is available on the event’s Facebook page: Shaggy’s Benefit Show

In other news, our current workshop PublicART @ SPACE has proven hugely inspirational. The workshop’s participants will be installing site-specific public art in Downtown Pomona for Art Walk on Saturday, October 12. Meanwhile, in the Gallery, we will be celebrating the opening of two new exhibitions: Jon Measures’ PLACE in the Main Gallery and Harold Sherrick & Asa Moore’s Music Seen in the backSPACE. We expect this event to be as big as our inaugural show one year ago!

But before then, be sure to come to SPACE to view our current exhibitions: Animals: through the lens of Rich Shelby and Papercuts: Collages by Ashlie Chavez.

See you @ SPACE!
