All are welcome to come to SPACE during Downtown Pomona’s next Art Walk this Saturday, October 12 from 6–9pm. SPACE will be hosting a reception to commemorate the opening of two new exhibitions: PLACE in the Main Gallery and Music Seen in the backSPACE. PLACE will showcase new mixed media works by Jon Measures inspired by the artist’s recent cross-country road trip and the American landscape in both its natural and manmade forms. Music Seen is a joint exhibition that will feature photography by Harold Sherrick and Asa Moore, music photographers who embody different generations of the genre, but share the ability to represent the iconic status of rock musicians, as well as capture the connection between performers and their audiences.
In addition, participants in the PublicART @ SPACE workshop will be installing artworks in Downtown Pomona for temporary public display. SPACE will also be hosting a sweater drive, organized by Viva Pomona and All My Friends Music Festival, to benefit needy men, women, children, and seniors in Tijuana, Mexico. And of course, no Art Walk at SPACE would be complete without a little music; we are looking forward to having Rob Contreras of Zoinks Records as our gallery DJ for the night. We hope you’ll join us!
